Cinetopia Social Media Fair this weekend!

Step right up and hear all about it! Pacific Northwest-based luxury megaplex and restaurant, Cinetopia, will make its Kansas City debut with the grand opening celebration events of Prairiefire at Lionsgate on May 10-11. To events such as a street music contest, food vendors and an art walk, Cinetopia adds its own “Social Media Fair” where customers can show up to watch several recent classic movies – Gravity, Despicable Me, Raiders of the Lost Ark Jurassic Park and Night at the Museum – for free if they interact with the Cinetopia Overland Park 18 Facebook page throughout the fair.

“We want customers to have fun and interact with the immersive experience Cinetopia provides, and social media is the best way to do that”, says Cinetopia owner and exhibition industry innovator, Rudyard Coltman. “It’s an open house where social media is the customer’s currency to share in his or her experience and participate fully in all that Cinetopia has to offer.”

Cinetopia’s open house events include free wine & beer classes at Vinotopia, hosted by Kim Oshiro, Vinotopia’s resident sommelier. Customers can sample from Vinotopia’s extensive list of award-winning wines for free in exchange for a Tweet, a Facebook post or a picture shared on Instagram. If a customer takes a picture or posts about the great experience at Vinotopia, he or she will receive a free appetizer at the chef’s table where Vinotopia will be sampling its farm to table menu.

Customers will also be able to win door prizes and can spin a prize wheel to win Cinetopia schwag, food and future first run movie tickets in Cinetopia’s brand new, industry first “Movie Immersion Tunnel” – a custom animated 50-foot-long hallway featuring 360-degree animation leading to Cinetopia’s various movie theater offerings including the 75-foot-tall screen in the GXL auditorium; the luxurious full electric recliner Living Room Theaters; and the Movie Parlor where customers may view a movie in a luxury suite and theme park environment with a 30-foot screen and 18 additional immersive LED panels that transports the viewer to the world of the movie he or she is about to watch. This will be the first interactive movie amusement park-like theater ever built, according to Mr. Coltman.“I expect customers to enjoy the walk through Cinetopia as much as the movie experience itself,” he says.

Be sure to attend this festive carnival-like event where everyone will be a winner. After the events end on Sunday, customers who have attended all the weekend’s offerings at Cinetopia will be entered into a contest to receive free admission into movies for a year with a “golden ticket” prize.
Cinetopia officially opens its doors to the public with a slate of first run movies, including “Blended” on Thursday, May 15th.

More information and tickets are available atwww.cinetopia.com and also on the company’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/CinetopiaOverlandPark18.
