With the passing of Erin Moran, Joanie on “Happy Days” and “Joanie Loves Chachi”, we’ve lost a piece of our childhood. Moran’s cause of death was officially ruled cancer this morning. Henry Winkler, Ron Howard, Donny Most, Ted McGinley and Scott Baio, her Happy Days co-stars, reacted to her passing over the weekend with fondness.
Like us, they watched her grow up on set. After Happy Days, Moran had a history of personal problems which led to some controversy this morning.
Baio, who co-starred on both shows as Chachi said on WABC’s The Bernie and Sid Show this morning, “For me, you do drugs or drink, you’re gonna die. I’m sorry if that’s cold, but God gave you a brain, gave you the will to live and thrive and you gotta take care of yourself.” It was a complete 180 from his remarks Saturday night.
My sincere condolences. #ErinMoran #HappyDaysFamily pic.twitter.com/5b0AbioZEc

Baio quickly backed off the suggestion that she had died because of drug use, but the damage was already done on social media.
It’s unfortunate Moran’s passing has come to this. She was just 56. You can watch the CNN tribute video below.
OH Erin… now you will finally have the peace you wanted so badly here on earth …Rest In It serenely now.. too soon
