‘School of Rock’ is back in session as Jack Black, 12-year-old Roman Morello, and some talented youngsters run through “Mr. Crowley”!
Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello has a lot to celebrate. Not only is he about to become a Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer, but his mom just turned 100 and he threw a big party in her honor!
At the event, Tom’s son Roman led a band of fellow teenagers through Ozzy Osbourne’s occult classic “Mr. Crowley” featuring guest vocals from the very young-at-heart Jack Black of Tenacious D and School of Rock fame. Watch it below courtesy 13-year-old YouTube drum prodigy YOYOKA.
Tom Morello often speaks with reverence of his mom’s lifelong activism for free speech and civil rights plus her work as a teacher. In fact, do you remember the infamous Parents Music Resource Center which worked to censor rock and hip hop in the mid-to-late 1980’s? Mary Morello formed the anti-censorship Parents For Rock And Rap as a counter-protest. She was even given a First Amendment Award by Playboy’s Hugh Hefner! Happy 100th to her!
